Domestic Fixed Income Styles

Our fixed income process emphasizes spread product (corporates, mortgages, and asset-backed securities) with returns driven by sector management and issue selection. Risk management is integrated into the process to provide every client with the best fit.

Core Fixed Income Management
In our Core Fixed Income Management styles, our goal is to maximize long-term total returns at risk levels that closely approximate that of the broad markets. We invest in a full range of fixed income sectors.

	Core Investment Grade Fixed Income This style is managed against the Lehman Aggregate Index and invests only in investment-grade corporate bonds.
	Core Fixed Income This style is managed against the Lehman Aggregate Index and invests primarily in investment-grade corporate bonds but allows up to 10% in below investment grade bonds.
	Core Plus Fixed Income This style is managed against the Lehman Aggregate Index and opportunistically invests in below investment-grade securities, although the overall credit quality of these portfolios is only moderately lower than our other Core Bond styles.

Intermediate Fixed Income
This style focuses on the 1-10 year portion of the bond market and has a lower level of volatility than our Core Bond styles. The style's objective is to provide a consistent, positive total rate of return with an emphasis on current income through investments in intermediate-term bonds.

Long-Term Fixed Income
This style's goal is to maximize long-term total returns in a declining interest-rate environment or to match long-duration liablities.

High Yield Fixed Income
This style focuses on higher income producing securities, concentrating in BB and BBB rated.

Municipal Fixed Income

This style invests in high-quality, intermediate-term, double-tax exempt bonds. Our objective is to maintain a stable income stream and preserve principal.
